Catechism of the Holy Catholic Church
- #675 Before Christ's second coming the
Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many
believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will
unveil the "mystery of iniquity" in the form of a religious deception
offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of
apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the
Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place
of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh. # 676 The
Antichrist's deception already begins to take shape in the world every
time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope
which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatological
judgment. The Church has rejected even modified forms of this
falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism,
especially the "intrinsically perverse" political form of a secular
messianism.
#677 The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through
this final Passover, when she will follow her Lord in his death and
Resurrection. The kingdom will be fulfilled, then, not by a historic
triumph of the Church through a progressive ascendancy, but only by
God's victory over the final unleashing of evil, which will cause his
Bride to come down from heaven. God's triumph over the revolt of evil
will take the form of the Last Judgment after the final cosmic upheaval
of this passing world. [the reign of Antichrist and
a perverse eschatological judgment - this will affect the Church and the
whole world.] Our Lady of Fatima 3rd Secret - In June 2000, the Vatican released the unrevealed Secret of Our Lady of Fatima as stated by Lucia. Lucia writes: After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendor that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: ‘Penance, Penance, Penance!’. And we saw in an immense light that is God: ‘something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it’ a Bishop dressed in White ‘we had the impression that it was the Holy Father’. Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels, each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God. 5th Seal of the Apocalypse - And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying: How long, O Lord, holy and true, do you not judge and revenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given to every one of them one; and it was said to them, that they should rest for a little time, till their fellow servants, and their brethren, who are to be slain, even as they, should be fulfilled. Our Lady of Medjugorje - You must realize that Satan exists. One day he appeared before the throne of God and asked permission to submit the Church to a period of trial. God gave him permission to try the Church for one century. This century is under the power of the devil; but when the secrets confided to you come to pass, his power will be destroyed. Even now he is beginning to lose his power and has become aggressive. (Pope Leo XIII had a century ago an apocalyptic vision, when he saw the Church attacked by demons, and heard the Lord giving Satan 100 years to test the Church, he then instituted the prayer to St Michael. The century of trials is about to reach climax and end.) The attacks on the Pope and the Church not always come from the outside, but from the sin that exists in the Church. May the seven years which separate us from the centenary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima hasten the fulfillment of the prophecy of the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to the glory of the Most Holy Trinity (Pope Benedict trip to Our Lady of Fatima Portugal, May 2010). In this way let us pray with St. Paul: Marana tha! "Come, Lord Jesus!" and let us pray that Christ may truly be present in our world today and renew it (Pope Benedict - November 2008). |

And we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of our gathering together unto him, that you are not easily moved from your sense, nor be terrified, neither by spirit, nor by word... as if the day of the Lord were at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means, For unless there come the revolt first, and the man of sin be revealed [Antichrist], the son of perdition, who opposes, and is lifted up above all that is called God, or that is worshipped, so that he sits in the temple of God, showing himself as if he were God. Don't you remember that when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now you know what withholds, that he may be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity already works; only that he who now holds, do hold, until he be taken out of the way. And then that wicked one shall be revealed whom the Lord Jesus shall kill with the spirit of his mouth; and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming, him, whose coming is according to the working of Satan, in all power, and signs, and lying wonders, and in all seduction of iniquity to them that perish; because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying. That all may be judged who have not believed the truth, but have consented to iniquity. (St Paul - 2Thessalonians 2) "For when they shall say peace and security, then shall sudden destruction come upon them, as the pains upon her that is with child, and they shall not escape" (St Paul 1Thessalonians 5:3).
And he [Antichrist] shall confirm the covenant with many in one week [7 years before consummation - the reign of Antichrist - the last and intensive phase of Satan world control, until Divine Judgment is poured out - satanic plan that will bring about a new world era and false peace, a counterfeit of the coming new covenant and peace of Jesus Christ], and in the half of the week [3 1/2 years before consummation] the sacrifice and offering shall fall and there shall be in the temple the abomination of desolation [he sits in the temple of God, showing himself as if he were God (St Paul) - Catholic Church Rome or partial rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem], and the desolation shall continue even to the consummation, and to the end. (Prophet Daniel 9:27)
When therefore you shall see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, setup in the holy place - he who reads let him understand - then they who are in Judea, let them flee to the mountains. And he who is on the housetop, let him not come down to take any thing out of his house: And he who is in the field, let him not go back to take his coat. And woe to them who are with child, and that give suck in those days. But pray that your flight be not in the winter, or on the Sabbath. For there shall be then great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, neither shall be. And unless those days had been shortened, no flesh should be saved, but for the sake of the elect those days shall be shortened. Then if any man shall say to you: look here is Christ, or there, do not believe him. For there shall arise false christs and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Behold I have told it to you, beforehand. If therefore they shall say to you: Behold he is in the desert, do not go out, Behold he is in the closets, believe it not. For as lightning comes out of the east, and appears even into the west, so shall the coming of the Son of man be. And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give its light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be moved. And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven and then shall all tribes of the earth mourn; and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with much power and majesty. And he shall send his angels with a trumpet, and a great voice, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the farthest parts of the heavens to the utmost bounds of them. (Our Lord Jesus - St Mathew 24 - Ref St Mark 13, St Luke 21)
And there was given me a reed like unto a rod, and it was said to me, Arise, and measure the temple of God [Catholic Church Rome or partial rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem], and the altar and them that adore therein. But the court which is outside the temple, cast out, and measure it not, because it is given unto the nations, and they shall tread the Holy City [Vatican City or Jerusalem] under foot for forty two months. [3 1/2 years] And I will give unto my two witnesses [one witness is St Elia - who never died and was taken up to heaven in a chariot of fire - sent to lead the world and a remnant of the Jews through persecution and prepare them for the Second Advent (Behold I will send you Elias the prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord - Prophet Malachi 4:5). The other witness may be Moses who appeared to the disciples with Elia at the transfiguration, or more likely Enoch the 7th from Adam who was also taken up to heaven without death (Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying: Behold, the Lord comes with thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to reprove all the ungodly for all the works of their ungodliness, whereby they have done ungodly, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against God (St Jude 1:14-15)), and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred sixty days [3 1/2 years], clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks, who stand before the Lord of the earth. And if anyone will hurt them, fire shall come out of their mouths, and shall devour their enemies. And if any man will hurt them, in this manner must he be slain. These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy, and they have power over waters to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues as often as they will. And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast [Antichrist], who ascends out of the abyss, shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. And their bodies shall lie in the streets of the great city, which is called spiritually Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord also was crucified [Jerusalem]. And they of the tribes, and peoples, and tongues, and nations, shall see their bodies for three days and a half, and they shall not allow their bodies to be laid in tombs. And they who dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another, because these two prophets tormented them who dwell upon the earth. And after three days and a half, the spirit of life from God entered into them. And they stood upon their feet, and great fear fell upon them who saw them. And they heard a great voice from heaven, saying to them: Come up here. And they went up to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them. (Apocalypse 11:1-12)

And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns, like a lamb [False Prophet - Satanic Trinity: Satan, Antichrist, False Prophet], and he spoke as a dragon. And he executed all the power of the former beast [Antichrist] in his sight; and he caused the earth, and them who dwell therein, to adore the first beast [Antichrist] , whose wound to death was healed. And he did great signs, so that he made also fire to come down from heaven unto the earth in the sight of men. And he seduced them who dwell on the earth, for the signs, which were given him to do in the sight of the beast, saying to them who dwell on the earth, that they should make the image of the beast, which had the wound by the sword, and lived. And it was given him to give life to the image of the beast, and that the image of the beast should speak; and should cause, that whosoever will not adore the image of the beast, should be slain.
And he [Antichrist] shall make all, both little and great, rich and poor, freemen and bondmen, to have a character in their right hand, or on their foreheads. And that no man might buy or sell, but he who has the character, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. He who has understanding, let him count the number of the beast. For it is the number of a man: and the number of him is six hundred sixty-six [Financial Monetary System - Mark of Antichrist 666]. And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice: If anyone shall adore the beast and his image, and receive his character in his forehead, or in his hand, he also shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, poured full strength into the cup of his wrath, and shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the sight of the holy angels, and in the sight of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torments shall ascend up forever and ever; neither have they rest day nor night, who have adored the beast, and his image, and whoever receives the character of his name." (St John - Apocalypse 13:11-18; 14:9-12)
And they adored the dragon [Satan], who gave power to the beast [Antichrist] and they adored the beast, saying: Who is like to the beast? and who shall be able to fight with him? And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things, and blasphemies: and power was given to him to do forty two months [3 1/2 years]. And he opened his mouth unto blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them who dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them [Church persecution]. And power was given him over every tribe, and people, and tongue, and nation. And all the dwell upon the earth adored him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb, which was slain from the beginning of the world. If anyone have an ear, let him hear. (St John - Apocalypse 13:4-9)
The beast [Antichrist], which you saw, was, and is not [see above 'whose wound to death was healed'] and shall come up out of the bottomless pit [come back to life from the Devil abode - imitating Jesus resurrection], and go into destruction [at his end], and the inhabitants on the earth whose names are not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world shall wonder, seeing the beast that was, and is not, and shall come... And the ten horns which you saw, are ten kings [10 heads or 10 key nations of a revived form of the Roman Empire allied with Antichrist]... shall receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and their strength and power they shall deliver to the beast. (St John - Apocalypse 17:8-13)
And the king [Antichrist] shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished; for that is determined shall be done. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall magnify himself above all. But in his place shall he honor the god of forces and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. Thus shall he do in the most strongholds with a strange god [Satan], and who shall acknowledge him he shall increase with glory and he shall cause them to rule over many [his allies and partners], and shall divide the land for gain [dividing the countries and the powers for his interests and his allie's]. At the time prefixed [or at the time of the end - the final stage], the king of the south shall fight against him [Egypt and African and Arab Nations, or Persia, or Syria, or South America], and the king of the north [Antichrist] shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships [or the king of the north, Russia, shall come to the aid of the king of the south]. And he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. He shall enter also into the glorious land [Israel], and many shall fall; but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon [Jordan]. He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver [over all the wealth of these countries], and over all the precious things of Egypt; and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps [or at his feet]. But tidings out of the east [Eastern Block] and out of the north [Russian Block] shall trouble him; therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy and utterly slay many. And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas upon the glorious holy mountain [Mount of Olives or Mount Zion - Jerusalem]; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him [destroyed by Christ]. (Prophet Daniel 11:36-45)
And out of one of them [the kingdoms of the earth] came forth a little horn [Antichrist Nation ending up with Antichrist], and it became great against the south, and against the east, and against the glorious land [became a superpower]. And it was magnified even unto the host of heaven, and it threw down of the host, and of the stars, and trod upon them [Sorcery and witchcraft]. And it was magnified even to the prince of the host [God], and it took away from him the continual sacrifice, and cast down the place of his sanctuary. And strength was given him against the continual sacrifice, because of sins; and truth shall be cast down on the ground, and he shall do and shall prosper... When iniquities shall have come to the full [as it is in the present time], there shall arise a king of a shameless face [Antichrist], and understanding dark sentences. And his power shall be strengthened, but not by his own force [by Satan]; and he shall lay all things waste, and shall prosper. And he shall destroy the mighty, and the people of the saints, according to his will, and craft shall be successful in his hand; and his heart shall be puffed up, and in the abundance of all things he shall kill many [abundance of power and prosperity and technology]; and he shall rise up against the prince of princes [God], and shall be broken without hand. [by Christ] (Prophet Daniel 8:9-12; 23-25)
I considered the horns [Nations of the Roman Empire], and behold another little horn sprung out of the
midst of them [nation sprung out of these
Nations], and three of the first horns were
plucked up at the presence thereof, and behold eyes like the eyes of a man
were in this horn [Antichrist], and a mouth speaking great things.
I beheld till thrones were placed [thrones of coming
rewards and judgments], and the Ancient of days
[Almighty God] sat, his
garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like clean wool, his
throne like flames of fire, the wheels of it like a burning fire. A swift
stream of fire issued forth from before him: thousands of thousands
ministered to him, and ten thousand times a hundred thousand stood before
him [Angels and Saints], the judgment sat, and the books were
opened. I beheld because of the voice of the great words which that horn
[Antichrist] spoke, and I saw that the beast
[Antichrist] was slain, and
the body thereof was destroyed, and given to the fire to be burnt, And
that the power of the other beasts [10 Heads of
the revived form of the Roman Empire allied with the Antichrist] was taken away, and that times of life were
appointed them for a time and time [or their souls not yet
burnt, or their Nations for
the Nation of Antichrist - Babylon the Great - will be destroyed]. I beheld therefore in the vision of
the night, and lo, one like the Son of Man [Lord Jesus the Son of God]
came with the clouds of heaven, and He came even to the Ancient of days,
and they presented Him before Him. And he gave Him power, and glory, and a
kingdom: and all peoples, tribes and tongues shall serve Him, his power is
an everlasting power that shall not be taken away, and His kingdom that
shall not be destroyed...
Three things shall be before the Judgment. First, the terrible confusion of signs and tokens. Secondly, the malice and deceit of Antichrist, and the third, of vehement and marvellous operation of the fire [renewal of the world]... The second thing that shall be before judgment, shall be the folly and malice of Antichrist; he shall pain him to deceive all men by four manners. The first manner shall be by suasion and false exposition of Scripture. Forasmuch as he may, he shall give them to understand Christ, and he shall destroy the law of Jesus Christ, and shall ordain his law in alleging David the Prophet that said... Thus shall he say, that it was said for him as he that was ordained of God for to set law upon his place, after this that is said in the scripture of Daniel.... Antichrist and his complices shall give abomination and desolation to the temple of God in this time, as said the gloss: Antichrist shall be in the temple of God, as God, for that he shall destroy the law of God. The second manner shall be by marvellous operation of miracles, whereof said the apostle S. Paul in his second Epistle to Thessalonicenses in the second chapter, where he said... Of Antichrist it is said that, the coming shall be after the operation of Satan in all his signs, in all his marvels, and false lying deeds, whereof S. John makes mention in the Apocalypse, the thirteenth chapter... Antichrist shall make such signs, that is to say, he shall make such tokens that he shall make the fire descend from heaven. The gloss said that, like as the Holy Ghost descended in likeness of fire, in likewise shall Antichrist give the evil spirit in likeness of fire. The third manner that he shall do for to deceive, shall be in giving of gifts, of which is written in the book of Daniel the Prophet in his eleventh chapter... Antichrist shall give puissance to his servants in many things, and shall depart the earth to them after his will. The gloss said that, Antichrist shall give many gifts to them that he shall deceive. And to his disciples he shall divide the earth, and them that and make them thereby to obey him. The fourth manner for to deceive them shall be by torments that he shall give to them, whereof Daniel said in his eighth chapter... no man shall believe how he shall destroy and torment them that will not believe in him, for to draw them to him by force. And S. Gregory said of him... he shall slay the great and strong men; when he may not win nor overcome them by heart nor will, he shall overcome them by torment. (Golden Legend)
And after these things, I saw another angel come down
from heaven, having great power, and the earth was enlightened with his
glory. And he cried out with a strong voice, saying: Babylon the Great
is fallen, is fallen
[Babylon the Great is actually a city, world
financial and political center, but it represents the nation of Antichrist or the
nation behind
Antichrist - Superpower Nation - great and
powerful and control the world]; and is become the habitation of devils
[corrupt...], and the hold of every unclean
spirit [perverted religions and evil spirits...],
and the hold of every unclean and hateful bird
[prejudice and hateful and self-seeking...]. Because all nations
have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication
[all Nations imitated and were affected by her
immorality]; and the kings of the earth have
committed fornication with her [Nations and Leaders
Allied and submitted to her]; and the merchants of the earth have
been made rich by the power of her delicacies [her
abundant wealth and luxury and the varieties of luxurious items
consumed]. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying: Go out
from her, my people [God people taken away before
her final destruction]; that you be not partakers of her sins,
and that you receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto
heaven, and the Lord has remembered her iniquities. Render to her as she
also has rendered to you; and double unto her double according to her
works, in the cup wherein she has mingled, mingle double unto her. As
much as she has glorified herself [proud and
arrogant and superpower], and lived in delicacies
[prosperity and luxury], so much torment
and sorrow give to her; because she said in her heart: I sit a queen
[rule over all and have power over all] and
am no widow [allied with and submitted strong leaders and
nations]; and sorrow I shall not see
[strong and blessed and could not be overcome]. Therefore shall
her plagues come in one day [sudden fall and
destruction by God], death, and mourning, and famine, and she
shall be burnt with the fire; because God is strong, who shall judge
her. And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication
[allied and submitted to her], and lived in
delicacies with her [made rich], shall
weep, and bewail themselves over her, when they shall see the smoke of
her burning; Standing afar off for fear of her torments, saying: Alas!
alas! that great city Babylon, that mighty city, for in one hour your
judgment has come. And the merchants of the earth shall weep, and mourn
over her, for no man shall buy their merchandises any more... For true
and just are his judgments, who has judged the Great Harlot which
corrupted the earth with her fornication. And a mighty angel took up a
stone, as it were a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying:
With such violence as this shall Babylon, that great city, be thrown
down, and shall never be found again. (St John
- Apocalypse Chap.18)
No one is entitled to claim to be someone or to change or undermine the Dogma of the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, instituted by Jesus Christ, after abolishing the old Law, who commissioned the Apostles, and was handed down by the Apostles to their successors, along with the Sacraments and above all the Holy Eucharist, Authority, the imparting of Heavenly Gifts, Sacred Traditions, and the inspirations of the Holy Spirit who governs and teaches and leads the Church throughout the age of the Church; the truth and trust that is entrusted to them until the coming of the Lord. "O Timothy, guard the truth (trust - consignment) that which is committed to your trust... the precious treasure committed to your trust by the Holy Spirit, who dwells in us; "That you (Titus) should set in order the things that remain to be done, and should ordain Presbyters [Priests] in every city, as I also appointed you". Timothy and Titus were among those commissioned by the Apostle Paul, as also the other Apostles commissioned their successors, to guard and preach the Doctrine and ordain Presbyters and impart to them the gifts of the Holy Spirit - Greek Presbyteros, not Elders as translated in many end times Bibles, a member of the governing body, starting from the early Church, a member of the order of Priests of the Episcopal hierarchies that include Bishops, Priests, and Deacons. "Let the Presbyters who rule well, be esteemed worthy of double honour: especially they who labour in the word and doctrine... If a man desire the office of a Bishop, he desires a good work. It is therefore a must for a Bishop to be blameless, the husband of one wife, sober, prudent, of good behaviour, chaste, given to hospitality, a teacher, not given to wine, not aggressive, but modest, not quarrelsome, not covetous; one who rules well his own house, having his children in subjection with all chastity... Deacons in like manner chaste, not double tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy gain; holding the mystery of faith in a pure conscience. And let these also first be proved, and so let them minister, having no crime... Neglect not the grace that is in you, which was given you by prophesy, with imposition of the hands of the Presbytery". "Brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle... And we charge you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother walking disorderly, and not according to the tradition which they have received of us". The Doctrine of the Catholic and Apostolic Church, instituted by Jesus Christ, and governed through the Church age by the Holy Spirit, has also eternal merit that the foundations of the Heavenly City, the New Jerusalem, bear the names of the 12 Apostles; just as the gates of the City have the names of the twelve tribes of the Children of Israel of the Old Law which also has eternal merit. The Gate of salvation was the Old Law by the election of the Jews, and the Foundation of salvation is the New Law by the election of the Apostles and the Apostolic Church. Only God is to change the Law. Jesus, at his second advent, will establish the third and Eternal Law, that is founded on the two Laws, for the world to come "and there shall be one flock and one Shepherd".
